The assessment method for initial certification in any category shall be the verification of the eligibility of all applicants through the specific evaluation of pre-requisite experiences of candidates as stated in their application forms to confirm that the claimed pre-requisite experiences are related to competent skills and abilities required of a laboratory analyst and a success at pass level of the applicable written certification examination. Pass score for the four (4) categories of certification examinations as follows – Certified Laboratory Analyst (CLA) is 60%; Certified Laboratory Analyst (CWA) is 65%; Certified Environmental Analyst (CEA) is 60%; and Certified Food Micronutrients Analyst (CFMA) is 60%.
For recertification, the assessment method shall be through verification of a certified person’s satisfactory job performance and records of continuing professional development to ensure continued compliance with the requirements of certification scheme during the periods of initial certification and success at pass level of the applicable written recertification examination. Pass score for the four (4) categories of recertification examinations as follows – Certified Laboratory Analyst (CLA) is 60%; Certified Laboratory Analyst (CWA) is 65%; Certified Environmental Analyst (CEA) is 60%; and Certified Food Micronutrients Analyst (CFMA) is 60%
