Accreditation of IPAN-SoTLAN PCB by IAS, USA

This was the climax of the establishment of IPAN-SoTLAN certification body and it involved a third party (accreditation body) verification of the implementation of procedures and systems to ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17024: 2012 Standard. A very reputable Accreditation Body – International Accreditation Service (IAS), USA was contracted to carry out this all important exercise. The On-site and Follow-up Assessments were successfully conducted on 26^th to 29^th June 2018 and 4^th to 6^th February 2019 respectively.

These exercises were followed by successful closure of nonconformities raised during the assessments and ultimately the accreditation of the IPAN-SoTLAN Conformance Systems Limited as an ISO/IEC 17024: 2012 PCB with the issuance of Certificate of Accreditation by International Accreditation Service (IAS), USA in June 2019.

Subsequently and in accordance with the accreditation rules, we successfully expanded our scope to include Certified Food Micronutrients’ Analyst (CFMA) in 2023 and after the initial accreditation; IAS has carried out the required biennial re-assessment exercises in 2021 and 2024. As a result of the full implementations of all the systems as required by ISO/IEC 17024 Standard, IPAN-SoTLAN Conformance Systems Limited has been contributing to the development of the capacities of laboratory analysts/analysis and quality infrastructure in Nigeria and is poised and well positioned to reach out to Sub-Sahara Africa and beyond.
