Prof. Tunde Odesanya

Prof. Tunde Odesanya was born in Zaria, Kaduna State; he had his primary school education at Baptist Day School, Zaria and Yaba Model School, Surulere, Lagos State. His secondary school education was at Loyola College, Ibadan (1969 – 1973) from where he proceeded to Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu- Ode for his Higher School Certificate (HSC) from September 1973 – June 1975.

Thereafter, he proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Ibadan  in September 1975 and graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry (July 1978), After the NYSC programme ( August 1978 – July 1979) in the old Anambra State, he taught briefly at Baptist Academy, Lagos before a  short stint at the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

In 1981, he obtained a M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Control as well as a Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Quality Control (1984) at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow UK. He has worked extensively in both the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors of the economy initially as a Line Manager and later as a Consultant. He was the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Group of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMG-MAN) and was Associate Editor of the Green Guide – the first Quality manual for the industry.

He returned to the academia in November 2008 and passed through the ranks becoming a Professor in October 2020. He returned to the consulting industry and was appointed Managing Consultant/CEO of IPAN-SoTLAN Conformance Systems Limited in July 2023.

Professor Odesanya was a very active participant in the Nigerian Quality Infrastructure Project; he is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN), a Certified ISO/IEC 9001, 14001, 17024 and 17025 Lead Auditor. He is happily married with children and grandchildren.
